Tom Holland Hints He Won t Play Spider Man Unless He Can Do the Character Justice

Tom Holland is addressing rumors he’s the future of the beloved James Bond franchise.

“There’s speculation,” the actor, 29, admitted to Gordon Ramsay on July 31, but “we’ll keep it to a minimum for now.”

“Can you imagine what’s going to happen to your life if you do?” Ramsay continued.

“I mean, every young British actor, it’s the pinnacle of working in our industry,” Holland agreed. “I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive.”

In June, Variety reported that Holland, Jacob Elrodi and Harris Dickinson are among Amazon’s top choices to play the legendary character, who was last portrayed by Daniel Craig in 2021’s No Time to Die.

Tom Holland is down to play Spider-Man again — but only if he can do the character “justice.” “All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character,” Holland, 27, said during a recent press conference with the […]

A potential 2028 Bond release will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, the outlet also noted, and Amazon is reportedly interested in casting an actor under 30. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room. Like, this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.”

Holland filled fans in on even more details via Zoom during CinemaCon in March 2025. “I know we left you with a massive clip hanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say,” he said. “That’s all I’ve been allowed to say, and I’m well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don’t be worried. I’m not going to do that today.”
