Sullivan’s Crossing’s Cal worries about love interest Maggie’s future — and her possible departure from The Crossing — in Us Weekly’s sneak peek of the season 3 finale.

“I can’t help but notice what a good mood you’ve been in since the surgery,” Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray) tells Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan) in Us’ exclusive preview of the Wednesday, July 16, episode, while sorting through boxes together at the campground.

“Being back in the O.R. helped me put everything that happened in Boston behind me,” Maggie explains. “I don’t think I realized how much that lawsuit was affecting me. Feels like a weight’s been lifted.”

After recently helping Edna (Andrea Menard) through a medical emergency, Maggie was thrust back into medicine and surgery. Much to her surprise, she realizes that working at a hospital isn’t as bad as she remembers — even if her last stint as a neurosurgeon brought on a lawsuit and landed her back home.

While Cal is happy to see Maggie at ease helping others get well, he doesn’t exactly want her to go back to being a doctor if it means leaving The Crossing.

“I overheard Dr. Rabney (Sharleen Kalayil) talking about a job in Chicago,” Cal says, asking, “Are you considering it?”

“I just wonder if you really thought through what you’d be giving up when you moved here,” Cal replies. “Of course I did,” Maggie quips.
