In today’s economic landscape £100 doesn’t stretch very far – especially on the high street.
Prices at some of our biggest retailers have never been higher. For instance, near four figure outerwear has become the norm; this season Arket and Mango stock coats that cost over £800. At Cos, a leather trimmed shearling style will set you back £1000.
Unsurprisingly these hefty price tags surpass the average fashion spend of UK shoppers: according to a survey of 2,000 adults by the credit specialist, Aqua, 25 to 34 year olds fork out the most for their clothes, yet they don’t splurge more than £524 a month.
So we challenged our fashion team to hunt out the handful of hotspots that stock quality clothing at fractional prices (a lot of which can be found in our supermarkets) and build an entire outfit with just £100.
From a walkable yet chic pair of £14 mules, the £22 faux leather trousers you can pick up alongside your weekly food shop, and a £55 sustainably made event dress, these are the purse friendly fashion buys to covet now.
