Meghan Markle posted a cringey video of her and Prince Harry dancing in a hospital room ahead of Lilibet's birth earlier this month

Meghan Markle has finally addressed the viral clip she shared of herself twerking while in labour with her daughter, Princess Lilibet.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared intimate footage of herself performing the TikTok ‘baby mama’ dance with her husbandPrince Harry earlier this month to her Instagram account.

Nearly two weeks later, and she’s now finally addressed the clip in an upcoming podcast with Dragons’ Den star Emma Grede, preaching she can finally ‘share her authentic life’ on ‘her own terms’.

Speaking to Emma in a sneak peak of her Aspire Podcast due to be released on Tuesday, Meghan, dressed in a smart navy blazer, said: ‘You have to be authentic. Did you see my “Baby Momma” dance? That was four years ago.

‘So it’s also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life – a real, authentic, fun life – that’s happening behind the scenes.

‘I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.’

The Duchess ofSussexhad shared the throwback clip on her Instagramto mark her Lili’s fourth birthday saying ‘there was only one thing left to do’ when the princess was a week past her due date.

In it, Harry was seen coming into view of the camera as Starrkeisha’s viral Baby Mama song began to play.

A heavily pregnant Meghan then started twerking in front of a hospital bed before she gyrated around the room.

‘Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!,’ Meghan wrote on her Instagram account at the time.

In the podcast, Grede, who is the founding partner and chief product officer of SKIMS and CEO of Good American, confessed: ‘We maybe watched it like 20 times yesterday, and I was like, is that, is that her?’

As Meghan broke down into fits of laughter, Grede continued: ‘Is that Prince Harry there with the fingers? I was like, okay, Meghan and Harry, let’s go. But that’s you, right? Like that’s you in a way that we kind of haven’t been able to see you before.

‘And I did like a little secret cheer, cause I was like, well, that’s what I kind of want to see from you. Like I wanna see that happiness and that honesty and that “I don’t give a f***” kind of thing.’

Meghan agreed that the video had given her the opportunity to show her ‘realness’, adding: ‘By the way, that wasn’t yesterday! That was four years ago.’

The Baby Mama dance was a social media craze in 2018 with celebs Shay Mitchell, and Chloe and Lauryn Goodmanall previously posting videos of themselves taking part in the trend.

Lili – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s youngest child – was born on June 4, 2021 and was named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

She only became entitled to be a princess when her grandfather the King acceded to the throne, because of rules set out by King George V in 1917.

‘When I tell you that you won’t want to miss this episode, I mean it. Set your alarms for Tuesday.’

As well as launching her own podcast Confessions Of A Female Founder, in recent months, Meghan has begun to appear as a guest on her friends’ episodes – with the new interview with Grede only the second time she has done so.

In April, she sat down with her pal Jamie Kern Lima for her first ever podcast interview, breaking down in tears as she read a letter out loud from her children.

Shealso appeared to make a dig at the Royal Family by describing how she and Harry, 40, were ‘in the trenches’ when they first started dating.

Meghan revealed she was sending the youngsters an email every day to create a ‘time capsule’ they could revisit when they are older.

The mother-of-two became emotional as she read out a letter from them which read: ‘From Archie and Lili via Papa. We love your cooking. We love your pancakes and we love, love, love your hugs. You’re the best mummy and we love you.’

Referring to the note, Meghan said: ‘So sweet. I also love that it’s mummy, instead of mommy, which is very British.’ Blinking back tears, she added: ‘I wasn’t expecting this, they’re just so great. This is why it’s so nice to have no make up on, thank you.’

During the podcast, released yesterday, the Duchess also spoke of her relationship with Harry, saying she was more in love than she’s ever been before making a seemingly pointed remark that some have interpreted as a swipe at the royals.

‘You have to imagine, at the beginning it’s all butterflies – but then we immediately went into the trenches together,’ she said.

‘Right out of the gate, like six months into dating. So now seven years later, when you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way. And that’s why I feel like it’s more of a honeymoon period for us now.’

Over the weekend, Meghanshared an emotional Happy Father’s Day post featuring never-before-seen footage of a dotingPrince Harryplaying with their two children.

In another example of the privacy-loving Sussexes recently sharing more insights into their home life, Meghan has posted a lengthy video featuring photos and clips ofArchie, six, and Lilibet, four, with their father through the years.

TheDuchess of Sussexdescribed the father of her children as ‘the best’, adding: ‘Happy Father’s Day to our favorite guy.’

She shared a heartwarming snap showing a Happy Father’s Day banner hanging from their garden in Montecito, California, where Harry could be seen clutching his two children tightly on his lap.

In a series of clips, with Jason Mraz’s Have it All playing in the background, the duke is also seen cuddling his children when they were newborns and playing with them on the beach, in a waterfall and on a swing.

The duke is also filmed teaching Archie how to ride a bike as the Sussexes gave an unprecedented glimpse into their lives since leaving Britain for California when they stepped down as working royalsin 2020.

Meghan shared the snap with her 3.8million followers on Sunday, at which time she had not posted any tribute to her own fatherThomas Markle, 80, whom she has been estranged from for a number of years.

While just months ago, the couple had rarely shared a glimpse of their two children online, Meghan has increasingly uploaded photos of the pair to her Instagram account in recent weeks.

Further videos from Meghan’s Father’s day post shows doting father Harry dancing with his son in their kitchen and playing around with on the grass.

In other clips Archie is also seen kicking a ball around with his dad and laughing together as Harry reads him a bedtime story.

Another heartwarming picture shows Harry cuddling with his daughter Lilibet as they sit on a beach looking out at the ocean and cradling her in his arms while sitting on a plane.

Clips of the father-daughter duo also show Lilibet’s apparent fondness for animals as she is seen feeding a carrot to a horse in a huge timber stable and getting friendly with a heard of goats in an outdoor pen.

The post also offers a unique glimpse into what appears to be a number of family trips abroad, with clips showing Archie and Lilibet surrounded by glorious ocean views and palm tree covered landscapes.

One snippet shows the brother and sister racing along a white sandy beach in front of a huge rocky mountain, as Harry and Meghan slowly walk behind them.

Another also shows them splashing around in the sea together in front picturesque clear blue skies.

While just a few months ago, a picture of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s adorable children was deemed a rarity, the pair have been increasinglysharing more and more insights into their home life.

The reveals have been firmly marked by an increased social media presence from Meghan, who has made several posts in the last few months.

Many offer followers a glance at their life in Montecito, including never before seen snaps of Archie, six, and Lilibet, four. Some posts even include footage where you can hear their voices, in sweet home videos.

Several of the posts Meghan shared on Instagram featuring glimpses of the children were in the run-up to the release of With Love, Meghan.

One video Meghan shared featuring Lilibet (alongside Serena Williams) was tagged with the caption: ‘3 days until the party begins. All are invited @Netflix.’

Archie and Lilibet were also featured briefly in a short clip played when Meghan appeared on the Drew Barrymore show at the beginning of March.

During the episode, the Duchess revealed she had enlisted her children to help in the kitchen as she baked hundreds of cookies for guests attending the Drew Barrymore Show.

Then just last week, Meghan uploaded a series of snaps memorable family trip to Disneyland to celebrate Lilibet’s fourth birthday, in which she hide both of their faces with heart emojis.

Earlier on Sunday, Kensington Palace also shared pictures of Harry’s brother Prince William enjoying a warm embrace with his three children,Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven

In one of the pictures, shared on Instagram, the royal’s children – all sporting cosy dusky green ensembles beam as they face the camera; and William’s hands are affectionately on his kids’ shoulders.

And in a second more candid black and white snap, the youngsters all tackle their father with hugs, laughing as they play around in some grass together.

‘Happy Father’s Day, Papa,’ the caption read, highlighting that the more posed picture with the family smiling for the camera is the ‘before’, while the more candid black and white shot of them giggling together is the ‘after’. ‘We love you! G, C & L.’

Both of the images were captured by one of the family’s trusted professional photographers, Josh Shinner.

The sweet post proves to be yet another break from tradition for Prince William’s wife Kate, who has over the years put herself behind the lens to capture family moments.

But earlier this year, for her son Prince Louis’s birthday, Josh too was the cameraman behind the seven-year-old’s portrait.

The photo of Louis appears to have been taken on the same day as the adorable family photo unveiled today, while the Waleses were in Norfolk.
