An Irish woman who relocated to Spain to become an au pair ended up finding love in an unlikely place – with the older brother of the children she cares for.
Hannah Allen, 23, from Ireland, moved to Mallorca two years ago for a live-in nanny job where she lives with the family full-time, looking after two young boys.
However, taking to her TikTok@hanallennnshe recently revealed she unexpectedly ended up falling for the eldest son in the family.
Her video, which racked up 8 million views, she wrote: ‘You look happier’.
‘Thanks, I moved to Spain, became a live-in nanny, then fell in love with the family’s son.’
However she was quickly forced to clarify the situation assome viewers mistakenly believed she had developed romantic feelings for one of the children in her care.
One person wrote: ‘Pls pls be the same age and not the same kid she’s nannying.’
Another added: ‘Wait a min… share his age before I start judging more.’ Someone else added: ‘Is this illegal? this feels illegal.’

Quickly clarifying the situation, Hannah made a second video to reveal she is dating the oldest son, Joe, 21, and she looks after his younger brothers.
She explained how she had lived with the family for a year, before Joe moved back in to the family home after living in England in some time.
Hannah shared: ‘Once he moved in, we kinda slowly started to become friends. Like, we would just kinda chit chat.
‘And then I think we went to the cinema together one time, and we would stay up and talk and sometimes do things. Sometimes not. Like, it wasn’t, like, super common, but we would talk a lot at home, definitely.’
They eventually attended a wine festival together with some of Hannah’s friends, where they shared their first kiss.
However, Hannah was concerned about how their relationship might affect her professional position and she was worried she would be fired so they kept their romance a secret for months.
She revealed: ‘I was like, ‘I’m gonna lose my job. I’m gonna lose my job.’ And he was like, ‘no, you won’t. It’s fine.’
‘Like, we weren’t even trying to hide it anymore. Like, everyone knew, but it was just unsaid.’

Luckily, Hannah revealed Joe’s father and stepmother were very accepting of the relationship and her job hasn’t been impacted at all.
She said: ‘So it all game out and we had a little glass of wine and a celebration the next night.
‘Basically now we are together, he’s my boyfriend and I am his girlfriend. everyone knows, we live in one big happy commune. I did not lose my job which is always a good plus.’

While others revealed they needed more details about how the love story blossomed and how the family took the news.

To which Hannah replied: ‘Maybe I didn’t do as well with this story time as I thought I did.’
