Shaun Alexander just confirmed big news for his ever-expanding family!
The former NFL star, 48, revealed during an appearance on Kay Adams’ Up & Adams show on Thursday, September 25, that he and his wife, Valerie Alexander, are expecting their 14th child.
“We’re just now starting to tell people,” Shaun said with a big grin. “But number 14 is in the belly.”
Shaun shared that of their 13 children, the couple has 10 daughters and three sons. He did not reveal the gender of the baby on the way.

The announcement comes at a milestone moment for Shaun, who was also named one of 128 modern-era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 on Wednesday, September 24th.
During his interview with Adams, 39, , Shaun joked that pairing a Hall of Fame induction with welcoming a new baby would make for an unforgettable day.
“What a memorable day that would be,” he said.
Shaun and Valerie, who married in 2002, are already parents to Heaven, Trinity, Eden, Joseph, Justus, Temple, Honor, Jedidiah, Eternity, Hosanna, Hope, and Judea.
The couple’s daughter Torah tragically passed away at just 70 days old in 2017.
Earlier this year, Shaun shared that he took some of his sons to Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft as a birthday gift, showing that even with such a large family, he makes time for one-on-one moments.
“I believe family is the most underrated unit in the world,” he said in a past Father’s Day message via Instagram. “And the father is so important because he can set the identity, standards, and direction for everyone in the family.”
News of Alexander’s growing family quickly went viral, with fans chiming in on X.

Drafted in 2000, he became one of the NFL’s most dominant rushers, highlighted by his historic 2005 season when he led the league with 1,880 rushing yards and set a then-record with 27 rushing touchdowns.
That year earned him league MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Across his career, Alexander totaled 9,453 rushing yards, 100 rushing touchdowns, three Pro Bowl nods, and two First-team All-Pro selections.
He was later named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team, though he has yet to advance past the semifinalist stage in Hall of Fame voting. If selected, he would become the first Seahawks running back inducted into Canton.
