BiP’s Allyshia ‘Can See’ Why Sean Might Feel Like a ‘Second Option’ to Dale

BiP’s Allyshia Gupta Reveals Where She Stands With Sean McLaughlin After Interest in Dale Moss

Bachelor in Paradise season 10 star Allyshia Gupta isn’t second guessing her decision to admit her interest in fellow contestant Dale Moss, even if it might have ruffled some feathers off screen.

On the Thursday, August 7, episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, Allyshia, 30, revealed that she thinks she would have been “coupled up” with Dale, 36, if she had entered the beaches of Costa Rica earlier in the season. Instead, Allyshia pursued a connection with Sean McLaughlin while Dale was in a relationship with Kat Izzo. In the aftermath of Allyshia’s podcast appearance, Sean, 28, allegedly unfollowed her on Instagram and removed images of the pair — while calling the remark “interesting” in the comments section of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” account.

During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Allyshia said she was “surprised” by the reaction to her admission about Dale, noting that she was just being “truthful” with her feelings.

“That’s always what I will be. I’m gonna give you my 100 percent truth if you ask me a question,” she exclusively told Us on Tuesday, August 12, at DIRECTV’s Plot Twist – Featuring Bravo at The Perch by Skylight atop PENN 2 in New York. “We were talking about, obviously, coming at the end of Paradise, you have less opportunity to date around, which is the whole purpose of the show.”

She continued, “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying, ‘He was my type, and I would have wanted to go and explore if there was a connection there.’ But regardless, I’m happy I ended up with Sean, and I think I made the right decision.”

Despite fans noticing subtle changes to Sean’s Instagram account, Allyshia reassured Us that “nothing happened” between the twosome.

After taking last summer off, Bachelor in Paradise is back — with a twist. ABC kicked off season 10 of BiP on Monday, July 7, with a three-hour premiere that introduced a new resort, quick connections and several eliminations. Us breaks it all down, with some insight from host Jesse Palmer, bartender Wells Adams and […]

“Sean and I are on great terms,” she said. “We like to have fun with it. It was fun for us. I mean, obviously there’s highs and lows of the whole experience, but at the end of the day, the relationships you walk away with are the best parts.”

Allyshia gushed that she and Sean have a “fantastic relationship,” adding that “things are great” with him. “Hopefully things won’t be misconstrued any further because I think it upset Sean a little bit,” she said. “We’ve made up.”

While watching the show back, Allyshia explained that she thinks her “highlights” and “core” moments with Sean haven’t been played for viewers to see.

“I can see why he might feel like he was a second option, which wasn’t the case whatsoever,” she said. “We have a real relationship and I think that’s where he has his feelings hurt a little bit because it’s more than just a TV show. These are real people in real lives on the outside. … It affects you when you hear things online.”

Disney/Matt Sayles; Disney/Ricky Middlesworth While Allyshia Gupta left The Bachelor season 29 early, another member of Bachelor Nation allegedly wasted no time trying to slide into her social media DMs. “I have no idea how this Bachelor Nation world works, but in my reality la-la land, it’s like we’re all BFFs after this,” Allyshia, 30, […]

Elsewhere on the beach in recent weeks, Brian Autz found himself in the middle of drama when he decided to inform Bailey Brown that her partner, Jeremy Simon, had expressed his feelings for former contestant Susie Evans — and even called her in hopes she would return to the show. Despite Bailey’s emotional reaction to the news, she ultimately decided to continue pursuing a relationship with Jeremy and accepted his rose at the end of the Monday, August, 11, episode.

Allyshia, for her part, admitted that she feels “really bad” for both Bailey and Brian, who she said was “in a hard position.”

“I like Brian, I think he was doing the right thing. I’m glad somebody had the balls to come forward and tell Bailey the truth,” Allyshia told Us, claiming that she, Bailey and Lea Cayanan were the only ones not to know about Jeremy’s interest in Susie. “Had I known, I would have brought it up to Bailey immediately. Those are questions that I think I have for a lot of the women who are on the show and didn’t come forward.”

As the drama heats up both on and off screen, Allyshia hinted at what Bachelor Nation fans can expect for the rest of the season — which includes a $500,000 cash prize for the winners.

“I think you’re in for a treat the next couple of weeks,” she teased, before adding in true Jesse Palmer fashion, “Things are about to get really dramatic.”

Bachelor in Paradise airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
