Andy Cohen is weighing in on the news that Jax Taylor is stepping away from The Valley season 3.
“Jax announced yesterday that he’s gonna be stepping away from The Valley,” Andy, 57, said during the Thursday, July 17, episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “I’m very pleased with his decision and I think it is reading the room well and I think the most important thing is that I hope that he can work on all of his issues.”
Cohen teased the discussion he has with Jax, 46, during The Valley season 2 reunion, which is set to air later this month.
“I [had], kind of, a serious conversation with him about his need for control and his anger issues, and what it’s gonna take to get to a better place with [ex-wife] Brittany [Cartwright] and in the world,” Andy continued. “I hope that he takes the time to lean into this away from the cameras.”

The Bravo host added, “He seems very committed, from our conversations to his sobriety, and I hope that time away from the cameras will further encourage that and further encourage him to get it together.”
Us Weekly broke the news on Wednesday, July 16, that Jax would be stepping away from The Valley for the show’s third season.
“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” he shared in a statement. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.”
Jax shares 4-year-old son Cruz with ex-wife Brittany, 36, whom he was married to for five years. Brittany filed for divorce in August 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.
As season 2 of The Valley continues — the season finale is set for Tuesday, July 22 — fans watched the ups and downs in Jax and Brittany’s relationship. The latest installment showed the former couple coming face-to-face over a possible plan for Cruz after Jax returned home from a rehab facility for his mental health struggles.
Jax has been open about focusing on his sobriety in the wake of his rehab stay, confirming during a Watch What Happens Live appearance last month that he’s been sober for over 200 days.
“To be honest with you, right now, [drugs] isn’t my issue,” he said at the time. “I’ve got a lot of other issues that I’ve got to deal with. My ego, my anger, my control, my manipulation, all these things.”
