Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs was denied bond after he was found not guilty of sex-trafficking and racketeering and convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
The 55-year-old music mogul faced life in prison if convicted of the top charge – racketeering conspiracy. He will remain in custody until his sentencing on October 3rd.
Diddy’s lawyers asked the judge to release him so he could await sentencing in his Miami mansion, claiming he needs to take care of his sick 85-year-old mother Janice Combs.
The defense fought back the request with a letter from Cassie Ventura‘s lawyer and witness Deonte Nash, who said they feared the mogul’s release.
Judge Arun Subramanian cited Diddy’s‘years-long pattern of violence’ as he issued his decision to deny him bond, saying the mogul has shown a ‘disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence.’
The music mogul was convicted of two counts under the federal Mann Act for transporting people, including his girlfriends and paid male sex workers, to engage in prostitution. Each count of the felony crime carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
Breaking:Diddy is DENIED bail
Diddy has been denied a $1million bond request.
Judge Arun Subramanian said Diddy showed disregard for the law after his homes were raided as part of the federal investigation.
Subramanian cited Jane’s testimony that she was assaulted by the mogul in June 2024 to drive home his point. The judge also said Diddy’s ‘violence was depicted in the video’ of the assault on Cassie in 2016.
He said prosecutor’s were right to note that detention is ‘mandatory’ for a Mann Act conviction and added that the limited exception to mandatory detention was not met.
‘For present purposes, the defendant is unable to meet his burden’ to show by clear and convincing evidence a ‘lack of danger to any person or the community,’ Subramanian said.
‘Prior to the trial, the court denied bail, and sees noreason to reverse that now,’ the judge concluded.
Diddy was convicted of prostitution-related offenses but acquitted Wednesday of sex trafficking and racketeering charges that could have put one of hip-hop’s most celebrated figures behind bars for life.
His lawyers had cited his need to take care of his six children and his elderly mother as reasons for his release on bond.
Prosecutors said he remained a flight risk. They cited a letter from the lawyer for Diddy’s main accuser, Cassie Ventura, pleading for the judge to not release the music mogul.

Diddy tells children to ‘stay in the light’
When Diddy’s family learned their reunion would be delayed because the rapper has to remain behind bars until his sentencing, he offered some words of encouragement.
‘Stay in the light, I’ll see you all when I get out,’ he said, and blew them a kiss.
Combs then turned his attention to his mother, Janice, saying: ‘Mama, I love you. Stay strong.’
Diddy’s defense says it was a ‘great day’
Following the bail hearing, defense attorney Marc Agnifilo declared: ‘Today was a great day.’
‘He gets his life back,’ the lawyer said of the rapper, whose family was standing nearby.
‘You can live your life and you can live a good life.’
Cassie Ventura ‘at peace’ with verdict
Cassie Ventura is ‘at peace’ with the verdict, despite expecting Combs to be convicted on the sex trafficking count involving her.
In an interview with ABC News, Ventura’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, said the sex trafficking charge was the ‘most important count to her.
‘I think that obviously she would be a lot happier if the jury had convicted on that,’ he said. ‘But she’s at peace with the verdict. She is moving ahead with her beautiful family and her husband.’
The attorney added that he will now speak to his client about giving a victim impact statement at Diddy’s sentencing.
‘I wouldn’t be surprised if she makes the decision to do that, because it’s important,’ Wigdor said.
Diddy’s sons celebrate outside courthouse
Diddy’s sons Christian ‘King’ Combs and Justin Dior Combs were seen celebrating their father’s verdict outside the Manhattan courthouse on Wednesday.
The two boys were seen embracing and doing celebratory push ups.
‘I’m so happy again, my father’s coming home,’ King said prior to the bail hearing, in which Diddy’s $1million bail request was denied.
‘God bless. God bless the whole world.’
Court adjourns with Combs sent back to prison
The hearing has officially ended, with Combs sent back to prison.
His defense attorneys and prosecutors are now set to meet for a remote conference on Tuesday to discuss a proposal to move up the sentencing date, which is tentatively scheduled for October 3.
Judge reaffirms bail ruling
After hearing arguments from both defense attorneys and prosecutors, US District Judge Arun Subramanian reaffirmed his ruling that Combs will not be allowed bail.
‘The application for bail is denied for the reasons I said,’ he told the court.
Prosecutors hit out at Combs
Maurene Comey, a prosecutor, argued that the law states that someone who is convicted of the Mann Act should be detained, and argued that the only thing exceptional about Diddy are ‘his wealth, his violence and his brazenness.’
‘There is nothing exceptional about this case except for his continued criminality,’ she argued.
Diddy requests meeting with judge
Diddy has requested a meeting with Judge Arun Subramanian after he denied the rapper’s bail and ordered him held until his sentencing.
‘Mr. Combs wants to talk to you,’ Combs’ defense attorney Marc Agnifilo told the judge.
Defense continues to plea for release – but is quickly shut down
Defense attorneys are begging Judge Arun Subramanian to reconsider his decision to hold Diddy without bail.
‘He is a man who’s in the process of working on himself,’ said attorney Marc Agnifilo of his client, calling Combs a ‘model prisoner’ and saying, ‘I just think we should trust him. He’s not going to flee.’
But the judge then acknowledged that the defense admitted that Combs has a history of violence.
‘You full-throatedly in your closing argument told the jury that there was violence here,’ he noted.
Diddy’s mood turns as he learns he won’t be released on bond
Diddy’s smiles lessened on Wednesday after he learned he will remain in jail as he awaits sentencing.

He walked in, put his hands up to his lips in a prayer pose and blew a kiss to his family.
Prosecutors are also in courtroom, settled into their seats. Combs’ family and supporters took their seats in the gallery.
They are waiting for judge Arun Subramanian to take the bench.
Diddy’s bond hearing to begin soon
Judge Arun Subramanian said he would decide whether Diddy walks free on $1million bond at 5pm EST.
The defense has entered the courtroom for the bail hearing. They say he should be allowed to await sentencing in his Miami mansion.
‘By its verdict, the jury resoundingly rejected the government’s depiction of Mr. Combs,’ the letter to the judge says.
‘It convicted him only on two prostitution counts, which were related to the transportation of adults — adults whom the jury clearly found were consensual participants in the sexual activity.’

‘I’m always ready to freak off’: The flirty texts that got Diddy off the hook
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs stunning acquittal on the most serious charges he faced in his bombshell federal trial has left legal experts shaking their heads – and struggling to understand how the government could have fumbled the case so badly.
Now, Royale has analyzed the key testimony that fatally undermined the federal prosecution, as well as the significant evidence that failed to move the jurors.

Verdict follows weeks of harrowing testimony
Jurors deliberated for about 13 hours over three days before announcing their verdict. It came after they said late Tuesday that they had decided on four counts but were stuck on the racketeering charge.
At that point, the judge told them to keep deliberating and keep the partial verdict under wraps.
Diddy did not testify in the trial, which featured 34 witnesses as well as video of the rapper attacking his former girlfriend Cassie, the R&B singer born Casandra Ventura.

Diddy lawyers say he should be released because he needs to take care of his ill mother
Diddy’s lawyer said in a letter asking for a $1million bond that his 85-year-old mother Janice is ill and he needs to take care of her in Miami.
‘Mr. Combs’s mother is 85 years old. She suffers from various health conditions. For example, she was hospitalized in July 2024 for a heart condition and had brain surgery the previous year,’ the defense letter said.
‘She lives near Mr. Combs in Florida and she would like him to be her primary caretaker.’
Diddy’s lawyers have asked Judge Arun Subramanian to allow Diddy to await sentencing for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in his mansion in Star Island.
Prosecutors have opposed the request, citing letters of concern by Cassie Ventura’s lawyer and witness Deonte Nash, who expressed fear of the mogul’s release.
Janice Combs is seen on Wednesday after the verdict was read.

Prosecutors say they will seek to have Combs incarcerated
The charges Diddy was convicted of carry a maximum of 10 years behind bars, Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey noted.
‘Mr. Agnifilo tried to downplay the significance’ of the charges Diddy was convicted of, ‘but the record says otherwise,’ the prosecutor says.
She said the court has heard testimony of years of illegal conduct, transporting sex workers, drug use and attempting to intimidate witnesses.
Comey argued there’s a ‘real risk that he will flagrantly disregard orders from this court, that he will commit new crimes and that he will attempt to flee justice.’

Judge sets a 5pm bail hearing
Diddy remains in custody after the verdict. His attorneys want him released while he awaits sentencing, on a $1,000,000 bond signed by himself, his mother, his sister and the mother of his oldest daughter.
Prosecutors oppose any release, saying he was convicted of crimes of violence.
The court has said Judge Arun Subramanian will return to the courtroom at 5pm to make a decision on Diddy’s bail request.

The music mogul, whose been locked up in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, has raked in $4.1M since his arrest on September 16, according to the US Sun.

All the evidence that REALLY clinched it for Diddy
Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs stunning acquittal on the most serious charges he faced in his bombshell federal trial has left legal experts shaking their heads – and struggling to understand how the government could have fumbled the case so badly.
Now, Royale has analyzed the key testimony that fatally undermined the federal prosecution as well as the significant evidence that failed to move the jurors.

Diddy’s trial was ‘most expensive prostitution trial in American history’
Defense attorney and former prosecutor Neama Rahmani told The New York Post before a verdict was reached Wednesday.
‘If the government doesn’t get a RICO conviction, this will be a huge loss and the most expensive prostitution trial in American history,’ Rahmani said.
Indeed, Diddy was acquitted on the racketeering conspiracy charge, the most serious claim he faced.
The mogul was only convicted of transportation to engage in prostitution.
‘What a tremendous loss for the prosecution. And a huge win for the defense,’ Rahmani said after the verdict was revealed.
Diddy’s empire crumbled before his acquittal on most serious charges
The verdict in Diddy’s trial comes long after the once-celebrated music mogul’s major business ventures collapsed:
- He stepped down and later fully divested from Revolt TV, a network that offered programming focused on hip-hop culture, R&B music, social justice and documentaries.
- He reportedly lost a Hulu reality series deal
- He watched his once-iconic fashion brand Sean John vanish from Macy’s shelves.
- New York City revoked his ceremonial key
- Peloton pulled his music
- Howard University rescinded his honorary degree
- His charter school in Harlem cut ties.
- He settled a legal dispute with Diageo, relinquishing control of his lucrative spirits brands, Ciroc and DeLeón.
- His Bad Boy Records label remains operational, although it hasn’t announced any major upcoming releases.
- His music catalog — for now — remains available on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. None have publicly addressed whether they plan to adjust how his music is featured.

The wildest Diddy conspiracy theories to emerge from his trial
Since Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial started in May, and even after his arrest in September, a slew of absurd conspiracy theories came out linking the rapper to several high-profile figures.
The 55-year-old music mogul was found not guilty of some of the most serious charges on Wednesday.
He was charged withtwo counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and one count of racketeering conspiracy.

Diddy’s bond hearing set for 5pm
Judge Arun Subramanian will issue his decision on whether Diddy is released on bail at 5pm EST.
It comes after prosecutors and defense attorneys submitted letters arguing their case.
The defense has asked that Diddy be released on $1million bond so he can await sentencing in his Miami home.
Prosecutors fought back the request with a letter from witness Deonte Nash, who expressed fear that Diddy would retaliate against accusers.
All the shocking evidence shared at Diddy sex trafficking trial
The bombshell trial of Sean ‘Diddy‘ Comb revealed a trove shocking evidence in seven weeks.
The 55-year-oldmusic mogul was found not guilty of sex-trafficking and racketeering conspiracy – the top charge that could have seen him face life in prison.
He was convicted of transportation for prostitution, which carries a top sentence of 20 years in prison.

Diddy’s pleads for $1M bond in letter to judge as Cassie says she fears his release
Diddy’s lawyers submitted a letter to the judge asking that he be allowed to await his sentencing at home in Miami after he only convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
They said Combs has missed some big moments in the lives of his children while behind bars since his September arrest.
They said he has missed the high school graduation of his twin daughters, who didn’t have a parent with them because their mother, Kim Porter, died in 2018. And they said he’s been separated from his 2-year-old daughter and ‘needs and wants to be with — and remain with — his family.’
Prosecutors, on their part, submitted a letter by Cassie Ventura’s lawyer and her friend Deonte Nash, who testified against Diddy.
Both witnesses expressed fear of the mogul’s release.
‘Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community,’ her attorney Doug Wigdor wrote to the judge.
Nash, meanwhile, said releasing the mogul on bail would send a message to those who have claimed to be victims of Diddy.
The stylist wrote: ‘Mr. Combs has a long, well-documented history of violent, coercive, and retaliatory behavior. Over the years, he has repeatedly escaped meaningful accountability, and each time this has only reinforced his sense of impunity. If he is released now, I have no doubt he will see it as yet another license to continue intimidating, threatening, and harming people who challenge or expose him.’

Experts say Diddy won’t spend years in prison
Attorney Mitchell Epner, a former federal prosecutor in New York, says the technical maximum is 10 years for each prostitution-related count Combs was convicted of, but federal sentencing guidelines suggest a sentence ‘measured in months, not years.’
He says the guidelines give the judge a starting point of 15 to 21 months. Epner predicts the defense will argue that the nine months Combs spent in the Metropolitan Detention Center were so horrific that Combs deserves to be sentenced to time-served and freed on bail.
Prosecutors, he predicts, will argue that the prostitution convictions involved coercion and merit a lengthy sentence.
Epner’s best guess is a sentence of 24 to 30 months, nothing like 10 or 20 years.
Diddy’s glamorous nepo-baby lawyer who saved him from life in prison
A millennial attorney whose father made his name defending celebrity defendants won a stunning victory as Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs was found not guilty of the most serious charges against him.
Teny Geragos, 34, was one of Combs’ ‘dream team’ attorneys who convinced a jury to find him not guilty on Wednesday on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, which could have seen him imprisoned for life.
Combs held Geragos’ hand as he was found guilty on the lesser charge of transportation to engage in prostitution, which carries a maximum of 20 years behind bars.

All the celebrities mentioned in Diddy sex trafficking trial
Throughout the seven-week trial, his former girlfriendand main accuser, Cassie Ventura, delivered graphic testimonies alleging that the music mogul physically and psychologically abused her over more than a decade from 2007-2018.
Diddy’s ex-assistant Capricorn Clark exposed the mogul’s list of celebrities enemies and many other A-listers have come up in testimony.
The trial has even inspired deep fake videos that use AI-generated images to falsely claim that certain celebrities, such as Oprah and Jennifer Lawrence, have been mentioned in the mogul’s sex-trafficking case.
Here is a list of all the celebrities mentioned in the trial:

Diddy accuser Dawn Richard’s lawyer says she will still seek ‘complete justice’
‘Today’s split verdict is a disappointment, but the criminal charges are different than the civil claims we filed and have been fighting against Sean Combs,’ wrote Richard’s attorney, Lisa Bloom.
‘We will continue to aggressively fight our case until we obtain full and complete justice for Dawn.’
Richard told Diddy jurors that the mogul threatened to kill her she told anyone that she saw him physically abusing his longtime girlfriend Casandra Ventura.

Tony Buzbee says Diddy ‘dodged a bullet’
An attorney who represents over 100 alleged Diddy victims reacted to is acquittal for sex trafficking and racketeering, saying the mogul ‘dodged a big bullet today/’
Tony Buzbee told DailyMail.com: ‘Diddy dodged a big bullet today. But that doesn’t end the saga. The thrust of the prosecution’s case was focused solely on two alleged victims, Cassie and Jane, with whom Sean Combs had long-term relationships. The jury found that he violated federal law with regard to the transportation to engage in prostitution but cleared him on the most three most serious charges.
‘Perhaps because of the nature of his relationship with those women and the length of those two relationships, I think the jury struggled with the difficult issue of consent and more broadly whether Mr. Combs’ conduct appropriately fit within the RICO statute.
‘Our clients were not the focus of the prosecution’s case. And those issues are not present in our cases. Our cases instead focus on discrete wrongful conduct allegedly committed by Mr. Combs that would be considered state law crimes if proven. Now that this spectacle is over, we look forward to aggressively pursuing these civil cases to obtain justice for these alleged victims.’

Trial observers had to remain in the courtroom for about 10 minutes until the jurors were all taken down in a freight elevator, likely to the courthouse garage.
Before dismissing them, the judge spoke to the jury, guiding them on whether and how to speak about the case to the media. He told them not to speak about other jurors’ deliberations.

Prosecutors react to Diddy verdict
‘Sex crimes deeply scar victims, and the disturbing reality is that sex crimes are all too present in many aspects of our society. Victims endure gut-wrenching physical and mental abuse, leading to lasting trauma. New Yorkers and all Americans want this scourge stopped and perpetrators brought to justice,’ says the statement by U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton and Ricky Patel, who runs New York’s field office for Homeland Security Investigations.
‘Prosecuting sex crimes requires brave victims to come forward and tell their harrowing stories. We and our law enforcement partners recognize the hardships victims endure and have prioritized a victim-centered approach to investigating and prosecuting these cases,’ said the statement, which also praises law enforcement offices ‘for their assistance in this matter.’
What is the Mann Act?
Diddy was convicted of flying people around the country, including his girlfriends and paid male sex workers, to engage in sexual encounters in violation of the federal Mann Act.
The 1910 law originally prohibited the interstate or foreign commerce transport of a woman or girl ‘for prostitution, debauchery or for any other immoral purpose.’
A 1986 update made the law gender-neutral and effectively ended the Act’s role in trying to legislate morality by changing ‘debauchery’ and ‘immoral purpose’ to ‘any sexual activity for which any person can be charged with a criminal offense.’

Overall, the jury deliberated for about 13 and a half hours over the course of three days.

Cassie Ventura’s lawyer Doug Wigdor said on Wednesday ‘we’re pleased that he’s finally been held responsible for two federal crimes.’

Wigdor added that ‘this case proved that change is long overdue and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.’
The lawyer said Cassie ‘paved the way’ for the convictions.
‘Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Wigdor told CNN the verdict ‘is not a loss’ and that Diddy is now a convicted criminal.
He said Cassie ‘felt comfort’ that she shined a light on Diddy’s behavior.

The key man hanging over the Diddy trial that no one’s talking about… but might hold all the answers
As the world is gripped by Sean DiddyCombs’ criminal trial and wonders what could have possibly led him into such depths of depravity, one man is notably absent.
Every day, the rapper, 55, who is currently standing trial in New York on sex trafficking charges, is supported at court by his loyal mother Janice.
Even most of his seven children attended the opening statements as a group, with some of his sons in regular attendance.
Yet if there is one man who haunts the trial, it is his late father, Melvin Combs – who may even explain how Diddy came to land in such hot water.
Melvin was the original ‘bad boy’, a gangster affiliated with the notorious New York mobster Frank Lucas, who was famously portrayed by Denzel Washington in the movie American Gangster.
He died when Diddy was just three, but his ‘hustler’ mentality inspired the music mogul’s pursuit of stardom.

Jury asked for transcript of male escort’s testimony
On Tuesday, the jury asked the court for the transcript of male escort Daniel Phillip’s testimony.
Phillip, 41, took to the stand for an hour as the prosecution’s second witness.
He told the court Combs paid him up to $6,000 each time to take part in orchestrated sexual relations with R&B singer Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura.
Diddy would often direct their encounters, forcing them to engage in awkward ‘role play’ before giving Mr Phillip specific instructions on when and where to orgasm, the male escort alleged.

Jury to resume deliberations at 9am
U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian ordered the jury to continue its closed-door discussions for a third day after the panel of eight men and four women said Tuesday that it was unable to reach consensus on the top count: racketeering conspiracy.
The judge agreed with prosecutors and Combs’ defense team that less than 13 hours of deliberations was too soon to give up on reaching a verdict on all counts.
The jury’s decision on the other charges — two counts of sex trafficking and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution — remains under wraps for now.
How much prison time is Diddy facing?
- Count 1: Racketeering conspiracy – up to life in prison.
- Count 2: Sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion – pertains to Victim 1 (Cassie Ventura) – minimum of 15 years to a maximum of life in prison.
- Count 3: Transportation to engage in prostitution – pertains to Victim 1 (Cassie Ventura) and commercial sex workers – up to 10 years in prison.
- Count 4: Sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion – pertains to Victim 2 (“Jane”) – minimum of 15 years to a maximum of life in prison.
- Count 5: Transportation to engage in prostitution – pertains to Victim 2 (“Jane”) and commercial sex workers – up to 10 years in prison.

Lawyers want jurors to continue deliberating
The prosecution and defense have both asked judge Arun Subramanian to tell the jury to continue deliberating after they said they can’t agree on count 1- racketeering conspiracy.
The judge said there are three paths to take.
The first is to tell the jury to keep going.
The second is an Allen charge – a supplemental intruction from the court encouraging them to re-evaluate their positions and strive for a unanimous verdict.
The judge the third one will come ‘at some point,’ – when ‘the court should advise the jury of the ability to return a partial verdict.’
The judge said ‘but we are not there yet.’
Jury says they have reached a verdict on four of five counts
The jury in Diddy’s trial said they have reached a verdict on all but one of the charges against him after about 12 hours of delibaration on Tuesday.
They say they are unable to reach a verdict on the racketeering charge.
‘We are unable to reach a verdict on count 1 as we have jurors with unpersuadable opinions on both sides,’ the note read.
The announcement came as Diddy was seated surrounded by his eight lawyers, who were talking to him with serious expressions.
