Netflix has maintained its status as the No. 1 streamer by keeping TV fans happy with a constant supply of shows across all genres.
This week, Netflix’s most prominent new arrival is the crime thriller Black Rabbit, and we’d be shocked if it doesn’t crack the top 10 inside of a day.
That’s why this series is Watch With Us‘ first pick for the three underrated Netflix shows you need to watch this weekend.
Our other picks include Netflix’s latest true crime breakout hit as well as a TV juggernaut that you may have never heard of before, unless you live in Canada.
‘Black Rabbit’ (2025)
Jason Bateman usually plays the straight-laced characters, with Ozark as a rare exception. Black Rabbit takes Bateman into even darker territory as Vince Friedken, the black sheep of his family. His younger brother, Jake Friedken (Jude Law), has a winning hand in the game of life, and he’s the owner of a prestigious restaurant that may secure his future.
All bets are off when Vince reenters Jake’s life with a plea for help, and he’s brought serious trouble with him. Vince has earned the wrath of an organized crime boss, Joe Mancuso (Troy Kotsur), and now he’s dragging Jake down with him into the criminal underworld.
Black Rabbit is streaming on Netflix.
‘Beauty and the Bester'(2025)
Beauty and the Bester has a story that’s so wild it would be too unbelievable as a movie script. But this is a true crime miniseries, and the events related here really happened. This three-part miniseries highlights one of the most famous criminal cases in recent South African history, starting with convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester.
Nandipha Magudumana is a celebrity doctor who had a clandestine romantic relationship with Bester. It’s believed that she also helped Bester fake his own death in prison with a body burned beyond recognition while they attempted to start over somewhere else. However, their crimes couldn’t be hidden forever, and their story is blowing up on Netflix.

Heartland is the longest-running live-action Canadian television series, and it’s even had a longer run than most American shows as well. The series follows two sisters, Amy Fleming (Amber Marshall) and Samantha Louise “Lou” Fleming (Michelle Morgan), who are drawn back together at the family’s ranch, Heartland, following the death of their grandmother.
There have been 18 seasons of Heartland to date, with more than enough stories to cover a lifetime for these women and the people they love. However, only 17 seasons are currently on Netflix. But if you’re looking for a family drama with a touch of romance, then you’ll probably be busy binge-watching this show all the way through the end of 2025.
