The hottest television stars are taking over Hollywood for the 2025 Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 14.
Comedian Nate Bargatze is hosting the 77th annual Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. “It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show,” he said in a statement in April. “And I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world.”
Nominations were announced three months later, recognizing the best and brightest of TV airing between June 2024 and May of this year. The hit Apple TV+ series Severance earned the most nominations — a total of 27 between the Primetime and Creative Arts Emmys — followed by two HBO favorites, The Penguin (24) and The White Lotus (23). Another Apple TV+ series, The Studio, became the most-nominated first-year comedy series in Emmys history with 23 total.
Also making Emmys history is The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey, now the first nonbinary person to be nominated more than once at the awards show. Ramsey, 21, is up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, a category they were also included in at the 2023 ceremony for their role as Ellie on the HBO series.
