A former Love Island star has revealed she’s ditched ‘miserable’ UK life to settle in one of the world’s cheapest countries, adding it has a big advantage over Dubai.

Diamanté Laiva is originally from London and appeared on the 11th season of ITV‘s popular dating show as one of the Casa Amor bombshells.

However, the 22-year-old beauty entrepreneur was brutally dumped from the island when she wasn’t picked during the recoupling.

A year on from her short-lived Love Island stint,Diamanté has revealed she’s relocated to sunny Vietnam – while questioning why everyone in the UK is so ‘negative’ – in a TikTok video.

The influencer told her followers she moved to the Southeast Asian nation three months ago and is based in Da Nang, a vibrant and bustling coastal city in central Vietnam.

Diamanté counted access to a beautiful beach and a significantly reduced monthly rent as some of the biggest advantages of living in Vietnam, as she added ‘the key is not going to to places everybody goes to’ like Dubai.

In her TikTok video, which has since been viewed 89,000 times,Diamanté shared that she only pays £180 in rent every month and insisted she doesn’t miss her home country at all.

Beginning the clip, she said: ‘Leaving the UK forever has made me realise that you guys are actually the problem – why is the country so negative?

‘For context, three months ago I moved to Vietnam and I know it’s such an awkward, random country.

‘I’ve not experienced a single ounce of uncomfortability, weirdness, nothing – the UK is the problem.

‘The key is not going to places that everybody goes to – so my house costs me £180 a month.’

‘The beach is over there,’ ssun=he said, pointing in its direction. ‘If I open this, the beach is outside.’

Diamanté further revealed that she’s living with her boyfriend in a spacious smart home that is fully equipped with kitchen facilities, furniture, and even a waterfall shower.

‘I do not do any cooking because we’re in South East Asia and there’s absolutely no need to,’ she added, likely referring to Vietnam’s street food culture and many affordable restaurants.

Further,Diamanté told her followers anyone looking to leave the UK should seriously consider Vietnam over other popular destinations, including Dubai that’s become a top choice for weary Britons in search of better prospects.

‘Not being funny but some of the buildings here are kind of competing with big Dubai. I love it and I really do love it,’ she said.

She also said healthcare in Vietnam is ‘amazing’, ‘modern and a lot more thorough than the UK’.

Dozens flocked to the comments with questions about what life was like for her since emigrating to Asia.

Responding to viewers,Diamanté said she had moved to Da Nang with her boyfriend three months ago, and that she was working remotely on her two online businesses.

Diamanté does not speak Vietnamese fluently but is able to get by using the basics, she told one follower. She admitted that the language barrier is ‘quite big’ but that she has Google translate on hand for when she needs it.

Any small inconveniences are likely remedied by the incredibly cheap cost of living – nearly 60 per cent less than the UK, as per data by William-Russell.

Forbes previously reported that 86 per cent of expats living in the Southeast Asian state rated the cost of living favourably – a figure that’s over twice the global average of 40.

Reacting toDiamanté’s video, one person said they were ‘so jealous’ of her lifestyle, adding: ‘I love Vietnam.’

A second said: ‘I lived there for 2.5 years! Beautiful country and changed my life for the better, enjoy Da Nang and the amazing culture.’

It comes over a year after the ex-Islander was embroiled in a nasty feud with fellow cast member, Olivia Hawkins.

When on the show last summer,Diamanté was seen clashing withJess White after she appeared to laugh when Uma Jammeh started crying.

In an interview after leaving the ITV2 show, Diamanté branded Jess a ‘bully’, which caused Olivia to comment on the situation, claiming she was ‘disgusted’ by Diamanté’s comment.

This led to further disagreement withDiamanté and Olivia, the pair both taking swipes at each other on social media.

Diamanté allegedly confronted Olivia at an influencer event but claimed she ‘ran away’. She then blocked her.

Despite being over a year old now, the feud appears to be ongoing withDiamanté having reportedly taken legal actionto prevent Olivia talking about her in the All Stars villa, Heatworld reported in January.

A source claimed that Olivia could not be mention Diamanté on the show as the she sent a cease and desist letter after receiving trolling over their dispute.

‘Diamanté decided to take legal action to address the situation and put an end to the row. She requested that they cease publishing content related to her,’ they revealed to The Sun.
