Loni Love broke her silence on her alleged drama with former The Real cohost Tamar Braxton, claiming the situation is one-sided.
“I have no beef. That’s what I want people to understand,” Love, 54, claimed during Wednesday, August 6, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “There is no beef.”
When host Andy Cohen asked, “It’s one-sided?” Love replied, “Yeah.”
Love recalled that when Braxton, 48, threw shade at her earlier this year, she was in Iceland. “I didn’t know what was going on. So, I didn’t know anything,” Love recalled. “Then I got all this information.”

Tamar Braxton wishes The Real looked a little different when she first launched the show. While appearing on the Wednesday, May 15, episode of The NeNe Leakes Show, Braxton reacted to NeNe Leakes’ claim that she was originally picked to cohost the show before Loni Love took her place. “I wish they would have told […]
Love noted that although “people wanted me to respond” that’s not her style. “I’m like, ‘I never respond.’ Andrew, you know me, I never respond to this,” she said as she directed her attention at Cohen, 57.
“I use my platform to entertain, inform and inspire, not to do beef,” Love concluded.
Love’s comments came a few months after Braxton slammed her former cohost —and her appearance — during a May episode of The NeNe Leakes Show.

“I was asked to be on The Real, and this was the beginning of the process of them casting,” NeNe Leakes explained to her fans during the show. “I’m sure it was Tamar and the other girls, but I was asked to be one of the first girls of the show … and I ended up not doing The Real. They ended up casting Loni.”
Leakes, 57, teased that Braxton “wouldn’t like” her and that was why she turned down the gig when in reality she said no because she was on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Braxton, for her part, was surprised to learn that Leakes was the top pick over Love.

“I wish they would have told me,’ Braxton, who exited The Real after two years, said. “I wouldn’t have cast Big Back Cadillac. We’d probably be in our 10th season by now. Thanks. Ain’t that dumb?”
Braxton claimed, “It’s no shade” toward Love, who she called “Big Back Cadillac” multiple times during the interview, but she hinted at her dislike of the talk show host again and again.
“How’d her back get so big?” Braxton quipped, while Leakes sipped her drink.

As the interview continued, Braxton claimed that The Real was “built” around her, and she had a hand in casting Tamera Mowry-Housley and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton. She recalled TV producer SallyAnn Salsano casting Jeannie Mai and “I assume she casted Big Back Cadillac,” Braxton added, referring to Love.
One month later, Braxton went on The Breakfast Club and apologized for her remarks.
“That is me being on NeNe’s show … I love NeNe. We have a lot of history. But that is an interview I’m not so proud of,” Braxton said during her June appearance. “There were cocktails involved, and I just feel like everything is not for the public.”

Evelyn Braxton continues to be unfazed by any of her daughters’ social media drama. “I know – knowing them – that they will resolve it. They’ll get it together,” Evelyn, 77, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting Cooking Sessions with Tamar and Ms. E. “They’re sisters for God’s sake. They’ve been sisters all their lives. […]
Braxton later said, “First of all, I probably should say this out loud and in front of everybody, I apologize for calling her a Big Back Cadillac. Not in any way did I want to shame her.”
She explained, “I’ve held onto my composure all of this time and never said nothing bad. That was really a vulnerable moment, and I apologize Loni. I really want to have a conversation that could lead to reconcile.”
Love and Braxton were part of The Real’s original panel of hosts when the talk show premiered in July 2013 alongside Mowry-Housley, 47, Mai, 46, and Bailon-Houghton, 41. Two years later, news broke that Braxton was leaving the show, which is when things seemingly began to sour between her and Love.
“The Real and Tamar Braxton have mutually decided that Tamar will not be continuing with the show for its upcoming third season,” a rep for Braxton and The Real said in a statement to E! News in May 2016. “She will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career. Everyone associated with The Real appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
While the statement claimed it was mutual, it came as a surprise to her cohosts, including Love. “There was no indication that Tamar was going to be let go,” Love revealed via Facebook at the time, alleging, “We genuinely all like each other.”

Days after the exit announcement, Braxton hinted that the circumstances surrounding her departure weren’t accurate.
“I love u all but I have been stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted (not my man or my sisters). I am not about to be tried and tested to snitch,” she wrote via Instagram in May 2016. “But know that everyone who smiles in your face is NOT your friend and is NOT cheering for you and will LIE and try and tear u down to TRY and dim your light.”
The Real continued on without Braxton until June 2022 when it ended for good. The series finale included Love, Mai and Bailon-Houghton as cohosts alongside Garcelle Beauvais.
